Pan Dau Art to Published Art
A Bilingual Book-Making Project
Pan Dau Art to Published Art is a family-literacy project of Madison Elementary School made possible thanks to the generous financial support of the Neale family in their establishment of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point Oscar W. Neale Fellowship . The goal of the project is to bring culturally-relevant books to students of Hmong heritage and their families that are learning English and literacy cross-generationally. The name of the project, Pan Dau Art to Published Art, originates from the strong oral tradition of the Hmong culture, complemented by the breathtaking needle point art of the Pan Dau story clothes.
